National Geographic Readers: Titanic (Paperback)
Melissa Stewart / Natl Geographic Soc Childrens books / 2012

The Titanic was called the "wonder ship." It was the biggest and most luxurious at that time. Yet, for that, they reduced the number of lifeboats for the comfort of first class passengers, leaving over 1,000 people stuck when it sank.

They also made bulkheads lower to fit fancy things, which made it sink faster.

On April 14, 1912, the Titanic hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. It was going fast, ignoring ice warnings. The iceberg crash is famous, but there were other problems, too. For example, the lookout had to find icebergs with just his eyes because they couldn't find binoculars. All these small mistakes added up to a big disaster.

Even little mistakes and human errors can lead to disaster. It's important to always be careful and make saftey a priority.

Sea Otters : Enjoy the Antics of Sea Otters! (Hardcover)
DK / Dorling Kindersley Ltd / 2016
품절

Ever since reading Katherine Applegate's book "Odder," I've been quitely devloping a love for sea otters.

Sea otters are aquatic creatures that spend most of their lives in the water. They like to float on their backs and sometimes use kelp, which is a type of big seeweed with a long stem, to hold them in place when they sleep.

People often call them the 'queens of play' because they love to have fun, just like I read in the book "Odder."

I also remember them from "Wild Robot" by Peter Brown, where they curious and turned on the power of Roz.

One of the coolest things about sea otters is how they eat shellfish. They put a stone on their belly and use it to crack open the shells. It's pretty clever and makes them even more interesting!
