1차 세계 대전을 거센 풍랑에 비교한다면, 2차 세계대전은 아마도 전세계를 휩쓰는 거친 태풍과 같았을 것이다. 폭풍우는 세계를 휩쓸고 지나가, 그 자리에 슬픔만을 남겨 놓았다. 민족주의의 폐해가 우리에게 준 것은 아무것도 없었다. 

The start was the militarism of Japan, nationalism of German and Fascism of Italy. They alied with each other, and they showed their ambition to dominate the world. Well, their dream collapsed by allied forces. There were the great U.S to stop them. 

The deads were over fifty million. The Second World War called the biggest demage of dead and our money. So, the dead can compared with all the people living in Korea. If you imagine that all of the people in Korea die, than you can know how many people died in the world. 

The Hitler finally suicided, but the thrid world war can be occured if people try to protect themselves. People tried to protect their things, so the world war occured. If there are tanks shooting at me, what will you think of?

First World War

세계 대전. 참혹한 세계의 역사. 수많은 사람들이 죽고, 사람들이 만들어낸 무기를 총동원했던 전쟁. 이것은 잘 알고 보면 사소한 것들이 모여서 이루어진 화약과 같았다고 할 수 있었다. 세계 대전, 그 첫번째 이야기는 과연 어떤 이야기가 숨어 있었는가? 

The beginning was the death of Serbian crown prince and princess. Someone shoot them, so they died. It was the strat of World War. Autria and Hungary declared war against Serbia, and it spread to the world. There were two forces; Austria, German and Italy were the team, and the others made unions. It was the fight of them, and many people died. 

Well, it was only the fight of Europians, but we can call it World war because the war occured at several places. And the world people demaged from this war. We can't compare this war with the Second World War, but it was quite dangerous war. So, the second wolrd war will sweep the world again. 

My opinion about why people make war is simple. They have purpose that they make war, but it's sure that they lost more things although they win the war. People think war is just like a cleaner. It reduce the number of weapons and people. It must be cruel, but there must be another war that killing a lot of people.

영국 군대는 과거 최강의 군사력을 보유한 적이 있었다. 말그대로 대영 제국, 떠오르는 태양. 물론 지금은 상당히 약체된 모습을 보여줄지라도, 여전히 강하다는 사실은 변하지 않는다. 이 영국이 과거 성공할 수 있었던 까닭은, 바로 노예 무역과 적근적인 식민지 정책 등으로 인해서이다. 대영 제국과, 그 곳의 흑인들의 삶에 대해 알아보자. 

When the British armies got the gun, it was the start of world of killing. British people settled at many places. They settled at South Africa as Boers, and Americans ans philgrims. They also cultivated Australia too. Australia was discovered by James Cook, the hero of British Empire. And many criminals and poor people went there to make their new life. 

There was the black trade, too. They used blacks as their tools. They could talk, and work harder. That was all. Britanians didn't think they were the same people just like them. They thought they make a lot of accidents, and they really did so. 

British history can be cruel, but it was also the motive power of England. If they didn't do that, than could they keep their happy life for long times? I don't think so. It was the blacks' power to made them eat abundant dinner.

Victorians, the status of England

공녀 빅토리아와 조지 3세의 넷째 아들로부터 태어난 소녀가 있었다. 황실의 피를 이어받은 그녀일지라도, 누가 그녀가 여왕이 되어서 영국의 최전성기를 이끌 줄 누가 알았겠는가? 여왕으로써 엘리자베스 이후로 최고의 활약을 한 여왕, 빅토리아 여왕으로 시작된 가문에 대해서 살펴본다. 

The Victorians were quite barbarous. They thought best teaching method was caning and hitting. They used really thin sticks to teach students. If they didn't go to church on Sundays, the priests gave many punishments to the students. I think it was quite a hard time for students at that time. 

It was also hard times for maids. They had to work nights and days. I sware that they don't have any rest time. They can't have good meals, and they only slept 7 hours a day although they work harder than the masters. Why the workers cannot fight back for their life? Well, they were victorians working for Victoria. They had to work hard. 

The vile Victorans' life was really splendid, but there always be weak, small people working for them. They have to work hard for the nobles although they are majors. If I was them, I would make a new world like French people.

엉뚱한 마녀, 위니 이야기

영문을 알지 못한 채로 또 다시 이상한 영어 원서를 접해야만 했다. 다양한 어린이용 마법사 이야기를 읽었고, 이 책도 그러한 책들 중 한 부류였다. 하지만, 아마 매우 어렸을 때 읽었던 동화책으로 나온 형식의 이야기가, 이 책의 주인공의 이어지는 이야기였음을 알게 되었다. 좋아하는 부류는 아니었으나, 어릴 때를 회상하여 읽는 점은 괜찮았던 것 같다. 

Winnie is just a extraordinary witch who is not so good at magic. This time, she joined to a circus, and she was going to show her show to the audiances. However, she couldn't succeed her magic shows all. She hurted her nose, bucket on her head, and failed at everything! People thought she was really funny. Yes, she was quite fun. 

The Winnie series will waiting for you. I met this book at 16 years old, so I don't really like about witches and dirty magics. But I know that some of children would like these stories by the movie, Harry Potter. You can't compare Winnie as Harry, but you can meet fantasic, funny advanture with this witch.
