책아책아! 영어 콘텐츠 연구소 엮음, 하민아 그림 / 애플비 / 2008년 11월

애플비 세계동화편도 재미있게 활동할 수 있는 책이었는데, 이 책은 좋아하는 10명의 화가 10편의 그림을 맛볼 수 있어 엄마가 더 즐거운 책이었다.  좀 낯설 수도 있는 미술 회화를 간단한 영어로 만나 볼 수 있는 기회. 정말 가격 대비 만족스런 책이었다.  

책만들기에 재미를 쏙하고 붙인 승재. 이번에는 자신이 좋아하는 르느와르의 책 속 그림과 책 속에 나와 있는 않은 그림들로 옮겨 쓰기도 해보고 직접 명화에 대해 자신만의 감상을 영어독후감상문으로 여러편 써보았다. 해가 지난 탁상 달력을 이용하여 연결 부분을 잘라내고, 여러 색상지를 붙여 아래처럼 재활용한 스크랩 리뷰북을 만들어 보게하였다.
 


앞 표지. 승재는 영어로 처음 리뷰를 써보아서 얼떨떨하고 다소 틀린 문장도 있었으나, 고쳐가면서 즐겁게 첫 작업을 마쳤다.

자신이 명화를 보고 책 속 이야기처럼 여러 편을 영어로 써보게 했다.

책속에 없는 그림이지만, 자신이 좋아하는 작가의 그림에 대한 감상을 써보고 도움을 받아 영어로 작성해본 것이 승재에게 영어 작문에 대한 자신감을 가지게 한 계기가 되어 주었다. 북메이킹은 아이들에게 여러분야에 대한 자신감과 함께 귀한 경험을 하게 한다고 느끼는 부분이었다. ^^

I made a book, today
It you read this book, you will love the pictures.
You don't need to worry about English! you can learn English, too!
It was very difficult to make a book, but it was fun, exciting, a mazing and fantastic! 
my favorite picture was Renoir's 'The Boating Party Lunch' 
영어 cd와 함께 아주 요긴하게 도움 받을 수 있는 영어 명화집이었다.

미술의 거장이라 한다면, 당연히 반고흐가 그 거장이지 않을까? 보통 예술쪽은 나에게 잘 맞지 않지만, 그래도 세계 거장전에서 보았던 백남준의 비디오 예술을 보며, 과연 틀에 갇혀 있지 않은 사고야말로 예술이라 할 수 있는 것이구나, 하는 생각이 깊이 들었다. 

책을 읽으면서 얻는 또 다른 장점은, 보통 그림을 소개하는 책에서는 옆에 간단한 설명을 붙여두는데 이 책은 영어로 소개되어 있다는 것이다. 231쪽에 달하는 명화 100점을 즐기면서 또 영어 설명을 읽음과 동시에 영어도 익힐 수 있다는 일석이조의 원리가 숨어있다. 

My favorite artist is Van Gogh. You know, he had an mentalillness, so he cut his ear himself. He didn't live a happy life. I know, only a few people live in real happiness. 

If I see the 'Starry Night', I feel awful. The stars are turning, and the moon is shining. His art grab me into his world. I didn't feel such a thing before. Next, my favorite artist became Van Gogh. 

Well, Klimt is an good artist, too. I can't see his deep world. He lived in flower garden when he was young. I knew art just need announcement and originality. 

100 of picture was all great. Can I paint a great picture like this? I don't know. But my mind just want to draw.

Wayside school, the funniest story from all of the world

어머니가 재미있다는 내용으로 무척 추천하셨지만, 아쉽게도 구입하지 못한 책. 시리즈로는 세편이지만, 각 편이 어떤 이야기에 관한 것인지 나와있지 않아 처음 보았을 때에는 아마 단편 시리즈인가보다, 하고 생각해보았다. 내용을 읽어보니, 30편의 이야기중에서 나를 웃게 만들지 않은 이야기가 단 한 편도 없었다! 읽는데는 1시간정도 걸리는 정도다. 책은 작아보이지만, 글씨가 조금 작아서 1장을 1분만에 읽는 정도랄까? 그래도 그동안 30가지의 재미난 이야기를 모두 만나볼 수 있으니, 이 책은 매우 볼 만 하다! 너무 재미있어서 TV 시리즈로도 나왔을 정도이니 말이다. 

Did you saw the Wayside School story? If you didn't I really recommend you this book! This is the most famous, interesting story. I will tell you about the mean teacher, Mrs.Gorf. When see find a bad-tempered student,(Not really. Because she thinks every students are bad.)She raised her right ear, than left ear, and she take out her tongue. Than when she stare at someone, that person turn into an apple! So she turned the 27 students into the apples. What a mean teacher! But students turn her into an apple. By mirror. This school is reallys strange. 

I'm sorry, but not all of the stories are fun. In 19 chapter, this is about Miss Zarves. And there is no 19 chapter. There is no Miss Zarves, so the 19 chapter is empty. I am really sorry. So your funny chapters are 29.

There are 30 chapters. 1 chapter is about Mrs.Gorf, other 1 chapter is about Mrs.Jewls, and the other 1 chapter is about the yard teacher, Louis. Louis is the writer of this book. At the last story, he told to students that there is no Mrs.Gorf, 2 plus 2 equeals 43, Miss Zarves... Yes, they were all of Louis's imagine. But they don't know about that. Well, maybe if they don't know about that, it will be better.

이럴수가! 옴의 예언이 딱 들어맞을 수도 있겠다. 갤런의 말로는 스파 대공이 화산 궁전에 갖혀 계속 나오지 못하고 있다고 했었다. 하지만, 악의 도시 톨투에서 가면 제작사 홉으로 인해 다시한번 부활을 시도한다! 우리의 영웅들이 과연 그를 저지할 수 있을까? 

Well, this is a too bad news. Lord Sparr revival, again! He became a grim monster, because of the golden wasp. He needed the magic power, back! Maybe when he dead, he gave Eric his power. So that means he will help Lord Sparr. It's just my guess. Destiny is not the exact destiny. If he really believe that, he will really become a supporter of Lord Sparr. I can't imagine that. 

I thought Maliban was Lord Sparr. Because he didn't show people his real appearance. If people saw it, everyone should quietly surprised. He is genius. Too bad. But Eric, Julie and Neal are more genius and brave! Maybe one day, they will remove Lord Sparr, really.

시간이 지날수록 드룬의 세계에선 더욱 더 충격적인 뉴스들이 발생한다. 그동안 자주 등장해 왔으며 한때 스파 대공의 부하가 되기도 했던 마녀, 디미터. 그런데 그녀에겐 비밀이 숨겨져 있었다. 이번 이야기는 과연 무엇에 관한 것일까?

Do you remember the Keeah's mother and the sorcerer of Droon? She had a sister. And her name is Demither! Isn't it funny? Last story, Keah could use the red magic of Demither. She was a bad witch, but now Lord Sparr's jewel and power, the red dawn is draining her power! 

In the red of dawn, a spirit is in the jewel. His name is Om. And he only serve Sparr. He said a foretail, that Eric will help Lord Sparr. That's impossible. He will even eat the upper world, too! 

This is a good story. That is Eric had a magic power, too! I don't know what that is mean. Maybe Lord Sparr did sometihing to him. In next story, we can meet the new bandits, Prince Maliban is that.

타쿰의 독수리 악당

벌써 드룬의 비밀 시리즈를 읽어 10권이 넘어버렸다. 갈수록 표지까지도 점점 흥미진진해지기 까지 한다. 이번에는 스파가 사라지고 새로운 악당들이 점점 많이 등장하기 시작한다. 하지만 그가 완전히 사라진 것은 아니니, 과연 그가 무슨 일을 꾸미고 있는지 궁금하다. 

Did you saw Galen when he was young? Well, Keeah and their friends met the young Galen in the Tarkoom. They heard that in Tarkoom, there is the Hawk bandits. Batamogi, Snorky and Khan went here, too. Let's fight to the evil bandits! 

The story started with Neal's dog, Snorky. Last time, Eric's father went to Droon but Galen made him to forget everything about Droon. However, Snorky is an animal? Maybe he can be in trouble, but he can't talk. But next time, if he always come to Droon's world, it will be a problem.
