■ 작품 소개

코난 도일이 1912년 발표한 <<잃어버린 세계>>는 SF소설사에서 기념비적인 작품입니다. 챌린저 교수는 남미를 탐험하던 중에 미국인 메이플 화이트의 가방을 발견합니다. 거기에는 공룡처럼 생긴 물체들이 그려져 있었는데 교수는 남미 탐험 도중 실제로 익룡과 비슷한 생물을 목격합니다. 탐험에서 돌아온 후 공룡이 살아 있다고 주장하지만 비판만 받을 뿐 사람들은 믿지 않았습니다. 챌린저 교수는 자신의 주장을 증명하기 위해 남미로 다시 한 번 탐사를 가게 됩니다.
