존 버니언(John Bunyan, 1628년 11월 28일 ~ 1688년 8월 31일)은영국 침례교 목회자이자 작가입니다.버니언이살던 시대에는 영국 성공회를 제외한 기독교 교파들을 탄압했기 때문에 침례교도인 버니언은비밀집회 혐의로 12년 동안 투옥되었습니다. 거기서 일생의 역작이며 그의 명성의 전부인 <천로역정> 1부를 썼습니다.
