Lysistrata is the greatest work by Aristophanes. This blank and rash statement is made that it may be rejected. But first let it be understood that I do not mean it is a better written work than the Birds or the Frogs, or that (to descend to the scale of values that will be naturally imputed to me) it has any more appeal to the collectors of "curious literature" than the Ecclesiazusae or the Thesmophpriazusae.

아리스토파네스(BC 445~BC 385)는 고대 그리스를 대표하는 희극 시인입니다. 페리클레스 치하의전성기 아테네에서 태어났습니다. 작품의 대부분을 펠로폰네소스전쟁 도중에 썼습니다. <<연회의 사람들>>, <<복신(福神) Plutos>>, <<아카르나이의 사람들 Acharneis>>, <<기사 Hip 집필하였습니다. pheis>>, <<구름 Nephelai>> 등 기지와 해학이 넘치는 작품들을 집필하였습니다. 총 44편의 희극을 창작했으나 현존하는 것은 11편입니다.
