■ 저자 소개

프랑수아 라블레(1494 - 1553년)는 프랑스의 작가입니다. 1530년에 의학학위를 취득하고 1532년 리옹 시립 병원 의사가 되었습니다. 1532년 이후 작자 미상의 소설 《가르강튀아 대연대기》에서 아이디어를 얻어 쓰게 된《팡타그뤼엘》이 인기를 끌자, 가르강튀아 대연대기와는 따른 《가르강튀아》를 펴내기에 이릅니다. 책이 금서가 되고 박해를 피해 떠돌아다니다가 사망했습니다.
