1 Corinthians 3:3 NLT
[3] for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world? - P101

14The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai,

15"Count the Levites by their families and clans. Count every male a month old or more." - P112

25At the tent of meeting the Gershonites were responsible for the care of the tabernacle and tent, its coverings, the curtain at the entrance to the tent of meeting,

26the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard surrounding the tabernacle and altar, and the ropes—and everything related to their use. - P113

28The number of all the males a month old or more was 8,600. The Kohathites were responsible for the care of the sanctuary. - P114

30The leader of the families of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

31They were responsible for the care of the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used in ministering, the curtain, and everything related to their use.

- P114

32The chief leader of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest. He was appointed over those who were responsible for the care of the sanctuary. - P114

36The Merarites were appointed to take care of the frames of the tabernacle, its crossbars, posts, bases, all its equipment, and everything related to their use,

37as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs and ropes.

38Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, in front of the tent of meeting. They were responsible for the care of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death. - P115

Tasked with disassembling, transporting, and reassembling the tabernacle, they always set out before the Kohathites (see Num. 10:14–21). - P116

The care of the ark of the covenant as well as all the essential furnishings of the tabernacle is the responsibility assigned to the Kohathite clans. - P116

As our service meets the needs of other believers, we are also bringing glory and honor to Christ our Lord. - P116

Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of God appointing leadersfor specific seasons and purposes according to His will-from Noah build-ing an ark to Moses leading His people through the Red Sea, from Davidfacing Goliath to Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem‘s walls.  - P117

Every time God‘speople are faithful in obeying His instructions, they are not only blessedindividually, but they lead many others into blessings also. Not many of uswill become leaders in the same magnitude as Noah or Nehemiah, but Godhas appointed all of us to lead in some capacity in our lives. - P117

As an elementary teacher, I am constantly aware of the influence I have overthe young hearts and minds of my students. They are impressionable andwhat I say and do holds weight in their eyes. This is why I pray that I wouldalways lead them with humility and truth, admitting my own mistakesand shortcomings while at the same time holding them accountable fortheir choices.  - P117

Help us recognize how much we need each other as we serve You by serving Your people. In Your name, amen. - P117

Jesus prays for the unity of the future church, which He compares tothe unity that He has with His Father. The goal of unity is evangelistic;it will lead to non-believers acknowledging that Jesus was sent by God.
- P175

We tend to forget about unity or deem it unattainable, but Jesus praysspecifically for it, and we should desire for our local churches to be a fulfillment of this prayer.  - P175

Jesus also prays for His followers to be with Himand see His glory. The glory of Jesus is the manifestation of God‘s entirecharacter in His life. To see Jesus‘ glory is to enter into and experiencethis glory for ourselves.  - P175

We experience a shadow of this now, but we willsee it in full when Christ returns. We may experience seasons when it isfrom the factcourageharder to see the glory of Jesus, but we can takethat He prayed for us.  - P175

For our part, we can also take steps to removedistractions and come before Jesus to truly see Him for all that He is. - P175

Pray that the Father would help you see the Son for all that He is. - P175

Luke 24:32 NLT
[32] They said to each other, "Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?"
- P100

2The names of the sons of Aaron were Nadab the firstborn and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

3Those were the names of Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.

4Nadab and Abihu, however, died before the Lord when they made an offering with unauthorized fire before him in the Desert of Sinai. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron. - P108

7They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle. - P108

8They are to take care of all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, fulfilling the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle. - P109

10Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death." - P109

12"I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine,

13for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord." - P109

Ministry to God’s people flows out of a deep reverence for God Himself. When a chosen servant abandons that reverence, they face God’s judgment because God is holy. - P110

So it is today. Many who serve in our churches take on tasks and responsibilities crucial to ministry but out-of-sight and out-of-mind. They often go unnoticed like the many unnamed Levites working in the tabernacle. If you are one of those people, be encouraged knowing that God notices your service and it is of high value to Him. - P110

There have been many times in my life when I felt like my circumstanceswere without hope and healing and restoration seemed impossible. How-ever, the Bible tells us that what is impossible with man is possible withGod (Luke 18:27).  - P111

Luke 18:27 NLT
[27] He replied, "What is impossible for people is possible with God."

- P111

The Lord is compassionate. He is gracious. He is faithful. Let us join inpraise with the psalmist and trust that God is working all things togetherfor our good: "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a newsong in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fearthe Lord and put their trust in him" (Ps. 40:2-3). - P111

Keep us from prideful attitudes and ways. May we always look to You as the source of our lives and ministries. In Your name, amen. - P111

Luke 22:42 NLT
[42] "Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine."
- P98

Matthew 6:8 NLT
[8] Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
- P98

Psalms 37:4 NLT
[4] Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. - P98

Galatians 2:20 NLT
[20] My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - P99
