여호수아부터 에스더까지를 역사서라고 하는데, 이것은 다시 두 개로 나뉩니다. 신명기 역사서와 역대기 역사서입니다. 신명기 역사서는네 권으로 여호수아, 사사기, 사무엘, 열왕기입니다. 역대기 역사서는세권으로 역대기, 에스라 느헤미야입니다. 똑같은 이스라엘 역사를기술하는데 왜 역사서 종류는 두 가지일까요? 이스라엘 왕조사만 해도 열왕기와 역대기 두 권이 있는데, 당연히 거의 비슷한 내용을 다룸니다. 왜 두 개의 본문이 필요할까요? 역사를 기술하는 목적이 달랐기때문입니다. - P118
열왕기는 과거 반성이 목적입니다. 신명기 역사서는 바빌로니아 포로기에 기술되기 시작해서 완성된 책들입니다. 바빌로니아 포로기는이스라엘에게 심판의 때입니다. 이스라엘이 왜 하나님의 심판을 받을수밖에 없는지 해명하기 위해서 기술한 역사가 신명기 역사입니다. - P118
이에 비해 역대기를 비롯한 역사책들은 미래 건설이 목적입니다. 하나님이 이스라엘에게 새로운 기회를 허락하셨습니다. 하나님의 심판으로 이스라엘이 끝장난 줄 알았는데, 하나님이 페르시아 왕 고레스를통하여 다시 한번 이스라엘 땅으로 돌아와 거주할 기회를 주신 것입니다. 많은 뜻있는 사람들이 가나안 땅으로 돌아왔습니다. 어떤 마음으로 돌아왔겠습니까? 조상들은 실패했지만 이를 재현하지 말고 하나님이 기대하시는 이스라엘을 반드시 건설하자는 마음이었습니다. 그래서 어떤 이스라엘을 건설할 것인지, 그런 이스라엘을 건설하기 위해 누가 지도자가 되어야 할 것인지, 이스라엘 백성의 자세와 태도는어때야 할지, 과거 이스라엘의 본받을 만한 긍정적인 내용을 중심으로역사를 진술한 것입니다. - P119
본받을만한 정면교사를 중심으로 역사를 다시 쓴 것입니다. 그래서 역대기에는 다윗이 밧세바를 범한 이야기나, 솔로몬이 이방 신전을 세운 이야기는 나오지 않습니다. 역대기의 목적은 무슨 잘못을 했는지 따지는게 아니라 본받을 만한 정면교사가 무엇인지 제시하는 데 있기 때문입니다. - P119

17-18 참된 지혜, 하나님의 지혜는 거룩한 삶에서 시작됩니다. 참된지혜의 특징은 다른 사람들과 평화롭게 지내는 것입니다. 참된 지혜는 온유하고, 이치에 맞으며, 자비와 축복이 넘칩니다. 하루는 뜨겁고 다음날은 차갑고 하지 않습니다. 겉과 속이 다르지 않습니다. - P771
물론, 여러분은 욥의 인내에 대해 들었을 것입니다. 하나님께서 마지막에 어떻게 그에게 모든 것을 회복해 주셨는지도 알 것입니다. 하나님께서 그렇게 하신 것은, 그분은 돌보시는분, 사소한 일까지 세세하게 보살펴 주시는 분이기 때문입니다. - P774
하나님과 바른 관계를 맺고 사는사람의 기도는, 하나님께서 헤아리실 만큼 강력한 힘을 발휘합니다.예컨대, 엘리야는 우리와 똑같은 사람이었으나, 비가 오지 않게 해달라고 간절히 기도하자 비가 내리지 않았습니다. 삼년 육 개월 동안 한 방울도 내리지 않았습니다. 그 후에 비를 내려 달라고 기도하자 비가 내렸습니다. 소나기가 내려 모든 것이 다시 자라기 시작했습니다. - P775

Paul quotes Scripture passages to make a case for Jesus. He quotes fromPsalms, Isaiah, and Habakkuk. Unlike King David, Jesus did not see decayand it is through Him that the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed. - P121
Anyone whobelieves, Paul tells his audience, is set free from sin-being justified in a waythat is impossible under Moses‘s Law. He warns against unbelief. - P121
God‘s promise to David of an everlasting kingdom was sealed in Hispromise to the Messiah, the Son of David. In other words, God‘spromise to Jesus, which is mentioned in today‘s passage, guarantees the ful-fillment of God‘s promise to David. - P122
The same is true for us. God‘spromises to us are guaranteed by the fulfillment of God‘s promises toJesus, especially regarding His resurrection. - P122
And just as God decreedto His Son that He would be risen from the grave, God has also willedthat Jesus will lose none of those who are His (John 6:39) and for thisreason He keeps them in His hand (John 10:29). - P122
God‘s promises to usare intertwined with His promises to His Son so we can rest assured oftheir fulfillment. - P122
God‘s Word foretold not only the coming, death, and resurrection ofthe Messiah, but also the unbelief of those to whom His message ispreached. The unbelief of these people does not nullify the work ofGod, but to the scoffers, He gives a warning: everyone who does notbelieve will perish. Unbelief causes us to be blind to the great thingsGod has done and is still doing. - P122

Paul summarizes Israel‘s history at a synagogue in Antioch. God chose theirancestors, led them out of Egypt, gave them Canaan, appointed judges andkings, and from David‘s descendants brought Jesus, the Savior of Israel. - P115
TheJews condemned Jesus when they asked Pilate to execute Him. But God raisedHim from the dead and now, many are His witnesses. - P115
As Paul‘s journey continues, he is given an opportunity to preach in asynagogue. Before he gets to what Jesus has done, he seeks commonground with his audience by focusing on what God has done through-out Jewish history. - P118
His message emphasizes and encourages his listenersto reflect on God‘s sovereignty and faithfulness through the centuries. - P118
As we read these words, we can be encouraged because we know thatthe same God who was ever faithful to the Israelites will be ever faithfulto us. - P118
For this reason, we should view our entire lives through the lens ofGod‘s provision. - P118
This will allow us to share the complete story of whatGod has done in our lives. - P118
First and foremost I am having lots of challenges, which is to stay firm in front of Word and earnestly strive to have a gatherings.요게벳이 만든 갈대 상자나 노아가 만든 방주는 동력장치가 없어서, 본인의 의지나 생각으로 갈 수 없다. 갈대 상자를 만들어 아이를 띄운다는 것은 전적으로 하나님께 맡긴다는 것이다. 죽이든 살리든 이제 하나님의 손에 달려 있다는 것이다. 노아가 만든 방주도 마찬가지다. 홍수가 나면 그 방주의 움직임과 생사를 온전히 하나님의손에 맡길 수밖에 없다. 이것이 동력장치가 없는 상자 곧 ‘테바‘인 것이다. p216
